  1. All Indian passport holders require a valid visa to enter Switzerland
  2. Schengen Area signifies a zone where 26 European countries abolished their internal borders (countries of Schengen agreement). Here is the list of the countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland. These countries apply common policy in terms of short term visas.
  3. If multiple countries in a Schengen area is to be visited then Switzerland must be the country with the maximum duration of stay or if all the stays at the Schengen countries are same, then it must be the first country at the port of entry in the Schengen area.
  4. With “Short Stay Visa” general stay in the territory of Schengen agreement for not more than 90 days in a period of 180 days. The precise length of your visa validity is indicated on the visa sticker under the heading “Duration of visit”.
  5. Visa fee is non-refundable whether visa is approved or rejected.
  6. Validity of visa is subject to approval by embassy

Document Checklist


Photograph
  • 3 recent passport size photographs (35 x 45 mm without border)
  • Head should take 80% of the photo
  • Plain white background
  • Avoid uniforms or colors matching background
Passport
  • Passport should be valid within 3 months after your return from the Schengen area.
  • Should contain at least 2 blank visa pages.
  • Also enclose previous passport if any
  • 1 Copy of Passport’s data pages
Accommodation
  • Confirmation of hotel reservation, package tour, advance payments for entire stay in Schengen area.
  • For Business travelers, Invitation letter from the business partner in Switzerland
Flight Reservation
  • Confirmed flight reservation with names of all travelers.
Itinerary
  • Day wise itinerary / Travel Plan
Travel Insurance
  • Travel insurance is mandatory with coverage of a minimum of 30,000 Euros or 50,000 USD / person
  • The insurance should cover the entire stay in the territory of Schengen
Financial Documents
  • If employed : Last 3 months salary slips and last 3 months salary bank account statements.
  • Last 3 months personal bank account statements.
  • Personal ITR for last 3 years
  • If self-employed and/or company owner : Business registration certificate / GST Registration with annex A & B / Partnership Deed / Proof of proprietorship or other proof of ownership.
  • Last 3 months personal and business bank account statements.
  • Company’s and personal ITR for last 3 years
  • If retired : Personal pension bank statement for the last 3 months.
  • Proof of regular income generated by ownership of property or business
  • If Student or unemployed: Parent’s or legal guardian’s personal bank statements for the last 3 months.
  • Parent’s or legal guardian’s Personal ITR for last 3 years
Valid Visa
  • Photo copies of valid UK, USA, or CAN visas if any
Covering Letter
  • A Covering letter from the Applicant on A4 Size Paper (if Employed) / a covering letter on Business Letter Head (if Self Employed)
  • For Business travelers: Company covering letter with entire travel plan
Leave Letter / NOC
  • For Tourist visa : Leave letter from the company (if employed) / NOC of school or university along with school or university ID (if student)
Biometric
  • Indian citizens applying for a Schengen visa for the first time will have to appear in person in order to provide biometric data.
  • Children under the age of 12 are exempted from this requirement.
  • Previously submitted biometric data (after 2nd November 2015) is valid for travel to any Schengen country for 59 months from the date of submission.
  • In some unique situations, some member country may ask for re-submission of biometric data if they deem necessary
Vaccination Certificate
  • Valid Copy of Covid-19 Vaccination certificate
